Martina 22

The prestigious Martina 22 is located within a 600 hectare estate on the hills of the Val d'Orcia, between Siena and Montalcino.   This historic place has been recognized by UNESCO as a key reference point for the area. The Castello or Castle consists of a 16th century Villa and a sturdy tower.  It is surrounded by a park of oak and holm oak trees and is reached along an avenue completely adorned with cypress trees. Whilst maintaining the feel and tradition of past times, the current owners have carried out conservative renovation work that has made it possible to adapt the villa to meet modern day requirements. All the bathrooms have been designed in such a way as to avoid altering their former characteristics, integrating them with modern accessories; all the bedrooms have air conditioning.  The kitchen, which has maintained its original appearance, has been equipped with modern and functional elements: oven, microwave, dishwasher and other accessories. From the tower it is possible to enjoy a 360° view that stretches from Siena to Montalcino to Mount Amiata, a unique panorama of the whole Orcia valley. Outdoors there is a private swimming pool with shower, sunbeds and deckchair.  In the shadier areas of the park there are elegant little lounges, whereas on the outdoor terrace contained within the villa, an open air dining area has been created with a long table for sixteen people. The domestic staff lives in an area reserved for them in the villa.  They do the cleaning and prepare breakfast every day. They can also prepare lunch and supper on request; this service is to be paid for on site. Buonconvento, the nearest town, is 4 Km away, Montalcino 10, Siena 30. In addition to being an artistic nature park, the Val d'Orcia is a land with an almost surreal atmosphere that is also the birthplace of some of the most valuable and highly appreciated Italian wines: Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso Orcia.  It also offers many well-known local products and has a celebrated traditional cuisine.

TOWER: spacious panoramic living-room with TV; 1 bedroom with twin beds (140x200); 1 bathroom with bathtub and shower. Laundry room with two washing machines and ironing facilities. “CANONICA” (Vicarage): The house is situated in the village adjacent to the Castello and next door is the property’s ancient church. GROUND FLOOR: spacious kitchen with dining table; small lounge with fireplace; 1 twin bedroom with bathroom and bathtub; large panoramic terrace. FIRST FLOOR: large living-room; 1 double bedroom with bathroom and shower; 1 twin bedroom; 1 bathroom with bathtub. All the bedrooms have air conditioning, in an adjacent building there is also a gym with treadmill, exercise bike, sauna and other gym equipment.
