During the first half of the XVIth century, the noble Guinigi family, at that time the Dukes of Lucca, decided to locate their summer residence on the edges of the town of Matraia, which they chose because of the mild climate and spectacular views. The recent restoration work has made it possible to maintain the villa’s original character.  Particular care has been taken with the decorations in the reception room which has kept all its ancient charm to this day, as well as the cellars which have been turned into a Spa with room temperature indoor swimming pool and gym. The medieval village next to the villa consists of several buildings divided into apartments which have been completely restored in perfect Tuscan style, with colors that recall the land and the natural landscapes of the surrounding hills. All the apartments are supplied with: air conditioning, WI-FI internet connection, parking, dishwasher and washing machine. By the outdoor swimming pool guests are provided with a beach umbrella and two sunbeds; they can access the villa’s park, the gym and, by booking in advance at the reception desk, they can use the indoor SPA with swimming pool and sauna. The town of Matraia, where all the food shops are located, is 5 Km away, Lucca 13 Km. The coast of Versilia is 40 KM away.

GROUND FLOOR: 1 double bedroom with access to the external courtyard; 1 twin bedroom; 1 bathroom with shower; store room. Possibility of double sofa bed.
FIRST FLOOR: spacious living room with dining area; kitchen with dishwasher. Private garden at the rear; air conditioning and mosquito screens on the windows.
